This Month’s Featured Marina – Cala d’Or
|A single entrance from the sea leads to Cala Gran, Cala d’Or and Cala Llonga. The marina Cala d’Or is actually situated in Cala Llonga, which is well protected from all winds except a strong Easterly. A channel of green and red buoys mark the entrance to this popular port.
Cala d´Or – the Golden Cove- is one of the most picturesque tourist resorts on the island, which evolved from a traditional fishing village into a chic and elegant resort attracting visitors from all over the world in search of a relaxing vacation. It is located on the south-east coast within the municipality of Santanyí – a coastal region with many coves or `calas’. Beautiful white sandy beaches, transparent water and a rich natural sea-bed, are a feature of this area, which offers excellent swimming conditions and sheltered anchorage

Cala D’or has mostly avoided the excesses of tourist development. In the main it has developed outwards rather than upward and there are very few dwellings over two stories high and all are painted white.
The town pf Cala d’Or offers a large and wide selection of restaurants and in the summer months the town centre is a vibrant and fun place to be.
Inaugurated in 1970 and restored in 1982, the marina has 565 moorings, two platforms with travel lifts with a capacity of 50 to 65 tons respectively.
